Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer you will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug Software programs and their associated test-cases and test automation framework for a variety of Storage Products.

Hybrid IT develops and delivers scalable and reliable storage solutions for all levels of IT, from entry to enterprise. In the Software Engineer 1 role, you will be part of a team that designs and implements core functionality for storage solutions working in the Fort Collins, CO office.

As a Software Engineer you will develop and test software functionality for HPE Storage solutions. Engineering tasks consist of all aspects of the software development lifecycle including research, requirements specification, design, implementation, test creation and test execution of assigned areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering foundation with the ability to develop software in C/C++, Java and scripting languages. You will work closely with development engineers, product-management, and program-management. The engineering teams are very collaborative. Therefore, being a good team player is essential to the role. The key skills we value are programming ability, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Participate in the design, development, documentation, analysis and testing of assigned projects.
  • Understand storage solution capabilities and the interaction with the management software.
  • Create, enhance, extend and maintain existing software and test automation libraries.
  • Work as part of an Agile team to analyze project requirements with an eye towards increasing automated testability and decreasing risk.
  • Work as part of an Agile team to develop processes for effective monitoring and reporting of automation test results.
  • Communicate and support all project-related information in a timely and professional manner as dictated by team needs and processes.
  • Report development and testing status, issues, and programs risk to management and technical forums.
  • Openly share new ideas and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Fluent in at least one object oriented programming language; ideally comfortable with both C/C++ and Java
  • Direct experience with Python is desired (version 3 desired), seeking at least intermediate level knowledge
  • Experience with software development processes; particularly with test-driven development fundamentals, including the creation and management of tests using popular testing frameworks (pytest)
  • Experience with Git, JIRA, and Bugzilla is desired
  • Experience with Agile development processes is desired
  • Experience with Virtual machines (setup and use) is desired
  • Familiar with Linux (RPM based preferred)
  • Comfortable setting up necessary test beds (hardware, Virtual Machines, software, I/O, etc.)
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good understanding of design for software systems running on multiple platform types
  • Good understanding of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
  • Must enjoy learning new technologies and solving complex problems

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Typically 0-2 years experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
